The CR-RTI Framework
Four Cultural Pillars

Based on Dr. Dwayne D. Williams's research on culturally responsive RTI, our four pillars transform classrooms from technically responsive to deeply generative.

Communalism
Shared responsibility and interdependence. Students draw on family, peers, and community through collaborative learning and group decision-making.

Movement
Expressive movement — gesture, rhythm, music, and body language — that taps into cultural traditions to boost engagement and memory.

Oral tradition — storytelling, spoken word, teach-backs, and call-and-response — amplifying student voice as a powerful learning tool.

The Course
5-Week Tech Week Curriculum

Each module builds on the last — from awareness to implementation — with student deliverables, DAO governance, and real-world AI tools.

Week 1 · Awareness
Digital Citizenship & Identity
Students explore who they are online, their digital rights, and responsibilities. Deliverable: Canva identity vision board.

Week 2 · Research
Culture, Tech Law & Digital Rights
Students research cultural figures and produce a PSA on digital rights. Deliverable: Padlet infographic.
03
Week 3 · Ethnography
Community Tech Stories
Students interview community members and produce an AI avatar video or audio clip. Deliverable: Flipgrid story.
04
Week 4 · Observation
Peer Teach-Backs & Bias ID
Students choose a tech tool, prepare a teach-back, and identify cultural design biases. Deliverable: Demo recording.
05
Week 5 · Implementation
Final Showcase — Build, Present & Lead
Student teams present tech products to the Pi Rho Phi Youth Council in a live DAO-governed showcase. Micro-grants voted on. Impact documented for board and funder reporting.
